Alexa Samarotto got her first Australian Terrier in 1963, created Samabel Kennels, and entered her first show in 1965. She and her parents who had never owned a dog, did research on many breeds before deciding on the Australian Terrier. She has been showing and breeding “Grand Little Dogs” continuously ever since. She regularly shows her dogs and continues to lead by example in the show world. She is dedicated to the breed, to sustaining a rare breed, and educating younger generations. Her knowledge of the breed’s history and the bloodlines is extensive.
